John Sugden studied with the masters of modernism in Chicago and brought an eye for artistic mid-century architecture back to Utah where he grew up.  For a limited engagement, Sugden's own photographs of his work are on exhibit at the Rio Grande Gallery.  One of Utah's masters of modernism is shown through the "Art of Architecture" and through recent research that has documented the breadth of Sugden's construction and influence in architecture.

This month, two exhibits at the Rio Gallery opens doors to historic buildings through the photographic lenses that documented Utah's diverse architecture. The Art of Architecture demonstrates the unique artistry and design talent of Utah's architects, builders, and craftsmen. Through the exhibits, the work of a prolific photographer and
modernist architect, give us a small slice of the amazing breadth of built environment that we continue to have the pleasure to experience in Utah.
A brown bag lecture on the exhibit will be presented at the Rio Grande on August 28 at Noon.
